TÜBİTAK BİLGEM has been carrying out a joint project with DFKI (German Artificial Intelligence Research Center) within the scope of the HumanE-AI-Net (A Network of European Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence Laboratories) project, which is a EU H2020 funded project. The HumanE-AI-Net project combines together leading European research centers, universities and industrial enterprises, working on artificial intelligence, into a network of centers of excellence.

The neural activity in the EEG signal obtained from the brain during weight lifting will be investigated within the scope of the project. Considering brain activity during empty, imaginary and weight lifting, the neural mechanism and the pattern of change in EEG will be inspected. Classification will be performed between lifting and no lifting states using deep learning-based and machine learning methods.

Although much research has been done on monitoring human brain activity, less research has been realized in the relationship between motor imagery movements and EEG to improve the performance of exoskeletons. This study aims to explore how EEG can be used to fill this gap and to achieve the following goals.

•    Effortless, ergonomic and efficient movement by AI driven imaginary movements.
•    Increasing mobility in stroke patients and disabled people.
•    Improvement of control techniques to enhance the accuracy, performance and comfort of exoskeletons.
•    Sports and training monitoring applications.
•    Developing an eco-system for AI based neuroergonomics

Our project has been conducting and we are at the data collection stage.
